Alicia Hundley is employed at River Valley Child Development Services—Choices CCR&R. She has been an Infant Toddler Specialist for eight years and a Training Specialist for thirteen years. She conducts trainings for caregivers who work with infants and toddlers, including the West Virginia Infant Toddler Professional Development Program (WVIT) and West Virginia Infant Toddler Relationship Based Care (WVIT II). In addition, Alicia provides technical assistance to individual caregivers within child care center classrooms to improve program quality.

Alicia is a fully certified trainer for WestEd’s Program for Infant Toddler Care. She is trained in rating infant/toddler environments using the ITERS-R assessment scale and she is a certified technician for the National Child Passenger Safety Program.

Alicia has presented at numerous conferences including The Zero to Three National Training Institute in Phoenix, AZ in 2010 and The Southern Early Childhood Association (SECA) Conference in San Antonio, TX in 2012. She has attended 45 hours of training in the Pikler Approach and has previously been an Instructor of Apprenticeship for Child Development Specialist (ACDS).

Alicia’s passion includes researching and training on information regarding Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) in an effort to reduce the rate of infant death, especially in child care. Alicia’s drive to ensure that all babies are placed on their backs to sleep is relentless.

Alicia has also worked in the social services field dealing with young children and families and prior to that worked in child care for ten years as both a lead teacher in a mobile infant classroom and as a private nanny. Alicia is the aunt of 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
